Offices, Carré Suffren building

Braun and Associates

France

2010

In this rehabilitation project, everything started from the shape of the ground plan of the existing building complex: a square. This shape became the “logo” that identifies the architecture.
Also, the façade is decked with 600 flags made of red glass that are so many urban signals.

Techniques:
The 8+8 mm tempered sheets of laminated glass used here were coloured using the copper red medieval technique. Today this is still the only colouring technique using minerals that produces a vivid, transparent and long-lasting red.
